Properties Wanted: 1 big reason why you should stop posting this

properties wanted

Properties Wanted. Desperately seeking properties to sell…

You’ve likely seen real estate agents on Facebook using this technique to attract listings their way; and if you’ve ever done this (or you intend to try it), please do not!

Here’s why the “Properties Wanted” post simply does not work:

In simple terms, consumers judge you by what you post. And if you post a status like this, you come across as looking desperate (even if you really are).

Remember that consumer perceptions are powerful, and people want to do business with successful property practitioners. You don’t want to give the impression you are not having success by posting for properties wanted.

Don’t advertise “Properties Wanted” on Facebook…

The properties wanted post is a desperate attempt, and consumers can sense it from a mile away. This kind of marketing simply doesn’t work.

Further to this, consumers will also ask themselves that if you are not able to source your own listings, how effective will you be at attracting buyers and selling their property.

Here’s what you want to do instead:

Post original content on your Facebook page about the market, the neighbourhood, and the life of an estate agent.

The more original content you publish, the more consumers will view you as a credible source of local information and give them an honest glimpse into who you are as a person.

Remember that people do business with people they know, like and trust. So the more you can build that relationship with your community, the more people will be willing to do business with you.

Attention on social media is good, but getting the right kind of attention is better. Ditch the properties wanted ads and status updates, and and start posting content aimed at creating relationships with your audience.

To help get you started, we’ve created a powerful and versatile tool called the Social Media Idea Generator. It’s packed with done-for-you scripts for every kind of post you can imagine. Posts designed to generate engagement and visibility on your personal and business profile!

The name of the game in 2022 and beyond is attraction marketing. The days of hunting are gone.

Rather than hunt for properties to sell, create content that helps build relationships with your prospective customers in your sphere of influence.

A post saying “claim a free market valuation of your property” works so much better!

The properties are out there: a 2 bed apartment, an open plan family home, country estates, modern-3-bedroom townhouses, or a 5 bed property in a perfect location.

They are yours for the taking. Your approach just needs to change.
